my question is.... why does this shock everyone. We live in one of the craziest times in history , I'm not shocked though I would love to see a human/chicken hybrid, imagine birth not hurting as much and if your kids are rotten you can sell them by the dozen

I saw the video and read the article. I agree that it is an odd sight for the the typical subway passenger.

But...

He is homeless, so I sure over tine his living conditions have alters his mind...or maybe his altered mind as led to his living conditions. Anyway, he found a companion in the chicken (since I am sure he doesn't have many, if any, human companions). He lets go of the chicken several times, so if the chicken was being injured in anyway, it would've tried to get away. Clearly the guy is the chicken's buddy too.

Now the floor is gross, I am sure, and I wouldn't be on it. But, he is homeless...I am sure the floor is cleaner than he is....and his likely mental condition is not concerned with the fact that it is not socially acceptable to be rolling around on the floor in the subway with his pet chicken.

I don't see what the big deal is really. It wouldn't be a big deal if it was a dog.
