Man this Organic feed looks so different to their regular feed!

Organic is not a rip-off. There are shysters who hide behind the organic label, but that doesn't make all organic products wrong or bad. I've seen that Countryside organic feed and that poster is correct, it's wonderful looking stuff, and I'd feed it but I can't find a reliable local source. I think the problem is so many people are buying it around here they can't keep it in stock. Right now I'm feeding Layena crumbles, they don't care for the pellets at all, I made the mistake of buying a bag and the rest is still out there - I'm sneaking in a bit every time I fill the feeder just to use it up. They'd scratch it out onto the ground and waste it; I never have that problem with them and the crumbles.

Just to clarify, I don't think ALL organic products are a waste of money or a rip-off. I was only going to go organic for the sake of the eggs, but really people around here don't seem to care at all. Plus, I'm not too impressed with the feed and for $24 a bag it had better be darn good. I used it to make some treats this morning, rolled apples in peanut butter and the feed mixed with some oats and they love it lol.

The company or farm it comes from is certified organic by the government, so that wasn't the issue. I'm not willing to take a chance and buy it again and waste my money again (though clearly not wasted this time, because I'm still using it for something else).

I'd buy organic if there was some gurantee I would be getting a feed that isn't just bits and actually had some substance, but finding that? Highly unlikely in a country where the average feed mill carries nothing useful (Note, except for the Orono Co-op in Orono, Ontario, they have the best horse section EVER, seriously it's like half the store).
