Managing your flock to keep them laying

I am so appreciative of this website, I've learnt so much from you all
My eggs have started pipping today with 1 chick hatched so far.
It's a noisy little thing too. I think the eggs that started today are isa's(neighbours eggs)
I have 4 light sussex as well inside with no action as yet ;(
But I'm pretty sure I saw a couple rocking today so I'm hopeful.
Again I'm very thankful to you all, your advice has been informative to worth a good giggle.

Welcome to BYC to you too, and you're welcome. Good luck with your hatch.

So far so good 5 healthy hatches 2 to go, bit anxious these aren't moving or sound.
Full eggs tho & have been o.c.d. Re temp/humidity
I'll just have to see over next 24

Acv must be the electrolyte? I put some in the water soon after the new chickens arrived and they were all roosters it turns out or a hen that crows and the rest roosters !! So getting rid of the roosters will help my lay rate I am sure. City girl trusting a farmer 's word they are all juvenile hens. Ugh ! Well I got rid of all the for sure roosters and plan to get rid of the crowing hen . Adding those birds messed up my layers!!! So I got the electrolytes to increase egg production and reduce stress. I used it during summer too for the heat. I got a white light to swap out in the red light to get through the winter and keep production up.

We're glad to have you.

Congratulations on the successful hatch!

Maintaining a healthy flock and keeping hens laying: temperatures will make your hens slow on their egg laying. I feed all my girls (and guys) scrap from when a cook. Also! Feed your hens their own eggs! After you crack an egg put it in aluminum foil. But it in the microwave for 13 minutes. Pull them out of the microwave, and crush them into small bits. Sprinkle these wherever your flock likes their snacks. It's a good way to recycle, and keep your girls happy, healthy, and laying well
