So this is my first year for my Mandarins to start nesting. I have seen them breeding so I am pretty sure that the eggs will be fertile. My little female has 5 eggs in her nest right now and maybe laying more because she hasnt stuck herself to the nest yet. She lays on the all night and then every so often throught the day to keep them warm. This is her first year laying. Will she go broody? How many eggs will Mandarins generally lay before the set.
I would also like to know if it would hurt to take some of the eggs away and put them under a broody hen so that I can have more babies or if it will affect my Mandarin sitting on the eggs. I dont know as though I am going to do this especially since this will be my first year having her set. Thanks in ad advance for all the help.
