I really want to start feeding my pekin ducklings and buff orp chicks treats so they will like me more, so I bought some manna pro grit at TSC. After reading the back, it says that you should start feeding it at 8 weeks. My chicks are a little over 5 weeks, and my ducklings are a little over 3 weeks. I am only planning to give them grit up to 18 weeks, because after that they will be part time free ranging. So my question is, can I start giving them grit now, and if so, should i put it in a dish or mix it with their crumbles? Thanks!

I bought the same bag and read the back afterwards. I opened it and it looked too big for my chicks so I went to the creek and got some sand, small rocks of all sizes (very small). I read that tip in a Polyface book about using creek sand/rocks.
