Which do you prefer? Does one have better results than the other?
I just picked up my second batch of eggs to attempt to hatch. I used the automatic turner last time but I’m wondering if it’s better to do it manually, or if it matters.
I had a crappy hatch rate last time so I’m trying to fix problems this time!

Is your turner turning all the way? I think more likely your hatch went poorly due to other factors (how old were the eggs? what was the humidity? did the temperature fluctuate?). I would not turn manually, for me I would forget very easily when I should turn them, and they wouldn't get turned as soften as with an automatic.

My hatch was bad due to low temperatures, I’m pretty sure of that. I was just wondering in general what people have preferred.
