Maran chicks???

I got some chicks out of the cuckoo maran pullet bin at rural king and everyone keeps telling me there not marans? I'm just curious as to what they are and if there even pullets.I plan to keep them regardless but would just like a idea

Im no expert but they kinda look like the silver laced wyandotte chicks at our local feed store right now.
Can you call and see what other breeds they were selling.
I just googled cuckoo maran chicks and they didnt look like that.

Hi.

I would have to agree not Marans based on the fact they don't have feathered legs. Also, those are the wrong color legs, I think. Unless they aren't being bred to the French standard.

The markings on the head look a lot like my Silver Laced Wyandottes.

Mix ups happen all the time in feed store bins, so it's not all that uncommon.

Still lovely.

Just a quick FYI.... Marans is always with an S even if there is only one... they hail from a French town named Marans.

They don't appear to be Marans. Probably Silver Laced Wyandottes.

Cuckoo Marans chicks look pretty much like barred Rock chicks...black with a white head spot and white underbelly.

I agree these look like Wyandottes.
