x2 Pretty bird. Does it have a tail?

It likely is an Easter Egger...a mixed breed with Araucana (tufted and tailess, US SOP)... or Ameraucana.

Definitely not a Marans; they do not have tufts, and it's not shaped like a Marans; not an Ameraucana...they cannot have tufts and must have beard/muffs, slate colored legs, be one of 8 specific colors, and have a pea comb, and NO leg feathers.

So it is a mixed breed, perhaps with an Araucana (although there are a few other tufted birds, but Araucana might be more likely).

can you explain the difference between tufts, muffs and beards?

I'll link this article from the Chicken Chick simply because it has great photos and info and Araucana (tufted ears) and Ameraucana (beard/muffs).

You will see that ear tufts are just that...tufts of feathers that look like sprigs growing out of the ear area.

Beards and muff...are well...think Santa Clause's full beard.
