I have a few questions about feathered shanks.
1. I have some black copper chicks that were from parents with good fearhering but they have light feathering. Will it grow thicker as they get older?

2. I always read there's a chance of hatching clean leg chicks. If one is hatched clean leg will they still have the gene for feather shanks or do they need to be culled or bred to a real heavy feathered bird

You know I have only three breeds that I wanna talk about - - -

These are speckled sussex started chicks.

Ahhh I wanna see pic of your chicks when you get them! I know you've been looking for good ones for awhile now

Cheryl, are your birchen eggs coming from Gabbard Farms?

I found someone local that has some birds from there. Hopefully, I am going to get to buy some eggs from him so they won't have to be shipped! I think he has improved on the line a little. He has blue and black birchens.

Does anyone know what a birchen splash would look like? Like a regular blue splash with a silver/white hackle and saddle? Does anyone have a pic of one?

Awwww.....You'z guyz and gals are really swell! Really TOP DRAWER I say....TOP DRAWER!!!!!
