Well, we'll see here this weekend what happens when you breed over x over melanized birds together. Some say you get all dark birds. One other told me they got some very colorful birds out of that type of breeding.
I'm not going for color this time around with these, but more for the size. The pullets all have pretty long backs. One boy has a decent back, the other's is a tad shorter than I'd like, but both are built like brick outhouses! If I get a bunch of light colored down on the chicks, I would tend to believe the lighter the down, the darker the bird. If I get dark chicks and colorful birds...I'll be thrilled!
