Debbi- I'll try tomorrow in the cloudy weather before it storms.

You're right - the sun makes him look really "blonde", which I know is a no-no!

His eye color is the most gorgeous fiery orange with reddish highlights - I've actually never seen such striking eye color!
His hackle and saddle are the same fiery orange, while his wings have a darker/deeper red.

The little guy with my little pullet is Davis with a splash of Jeane (pretty sure - sorry - my Chick Chart won't open...grrrr)
The little guy just started trying to crow this week!!

Jesse is Wade to me... Same thing... (IMHO)

Just lost my Jesse girl... Stupid accident that only chickens can manage... She had just eaten yogurt and drank and then fell out of her nestbox after laying and got caught upside down... drowned in her yogurt and water from her crop... Oh was so upset.. I hear the squaller but was sick and slow.. too slow...OOOOPS... I will have to live with this... DRAT... I may Call Ruth and get her send me some more of her birds. She has such nice dark laying stock.

oh - so sorry about your girl, geebs...that's so sad - what are the chances...

The little pullet and cockerel, as well as 3 others, are from Sue Osio - they are Davis with a splash of Jesse/Wade
I won't have anyone laying until they start!!

I do have some little ones coming up that are from Jesse/Wade and Greenfire Farms bloodlines (BCM and Blue CM)

I'm totally just starting out - so need to get this first generation going!

I'm hoping for some good broodies, too!
I didn't have much luck hatching BCM...no problems with other breeds, but BCM kicked my butt!
Saving up for a cabinet incubator!!

My BCM Jane just laid her first egg on Easter. I was joking that I have an Easter Egger BCM. She's laying gorgeous chocolate brown eggs.

Point me in the right direction please!.. I have all roos.. .. of all things.. maybe one pullet.. They are davis hens on a wade roo she said.. ..

The eggs were dark though .. probably a 6/7.. but.. I dont think these are egg layin roos.. lol..
