flgardengirl, Are you planting any vegs for the fall? Have you started planting anything yet?

I am sitting right down the street from you with a Splash pullet from Pink's stock......

Umm what happens with a splash x splash ? ? ?

black x black = 100 % black
black x blue = 50 % black and 50% blue
black x splash = 100 % blue
blue x blue = 25% black, 25% splash, 50% blue

I never worried about splash x splash, so whats the answer all you splash lovers

Gilavina, I would ask Walt to comment on the leg color of your splash male. I believe they will be required to have slate legs when they go into the SOP. Now would be a good time to find out.

I believe you get 100% Splash but it would probably be more diluted than the parents.

Splash x Splash = Splash

Tannis,

Good to see you back here! Clyde took a back seat to one of my Partridge Silkie chicks...sorry

He is such a good boy, as is his brother Roy. So calm, gentle, and good natured to me and the girls. Clyde is in charge of the youngsters for right now, that is until I cull almost EVERY dadgum bird I own off the place!

You be sure to let us know how you do at the shows, and you'd best be taking some pictures!

HORNET FREEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, not exactly free, but a heck of a lot cheaper than a trip to the ER, or a lawsuit! The guys that came out said that was one of the most aggressive nests they've ever seen. Ah, ya! When they follow you for 75' and keep you inside your truck for 20 minutes, that says aggressive to me! Guess that means now I can mow the lawn...

Lisa ~ Mr. Dark may fill out nicely for you. Clyde was kind of built like that when he was younger, although his back wasn't that long. I think some of the birds that have over-exaggerated physical points tend to really help you out when you do the compensation type breedings. It worked really well for me with dogs. The thing I'm not crazy about on him, are the hocks. Those feathers look like they may be a precursor to vulture hocks?? Kind of what you said too, and if you feel it in your gut, always go with your gut! Now, I'm sure no expert on that, or anything else for that matter, but to me, they ruin the "total picture" of the bird for me. JMHO...
