Well, I'm going to stick to Marans only. Save maybe for a couple of EE hens to get some olive eggs? That way I'll have all the time, money, and work going towards one breed. Do I sound like an idealistic newbie??

I have to be honest .... I would LOVE to have the perfect Marans and breed them. I don't see it happening. I have spent tons of money on eggs, and got tons of culls. Finally, when I last ordered eggs ...... I did not ask any questions, I just requested, "your darkest eggs," and that is what I got ..... darker eggs than I had previously purchased. SO .... we will see ....
