Well I have had one hell of a week.

The high lights...
I got a bad chest cold.
My 6 year old son got an ear infection and his ear drum burst.
My debit card info was stolen online and my account had to be closed.
My order of Andalusian chicks all died in the mail because the box was miss-sent.
And on top of all that a dose of PMS... Lol

But Saturday afternoon/ evening after work sitting outside in front of the chicken pens with a glass of wine...I feel strangely at peace.
Just glad the week is over.

and some chocolate..... eggs.... sorry! Hope your son is going to be ok ouch! this too shall pass.

Don't feel alone Christie, and at least you have someone to commiserate with. Things will get better, keep drinking the wine, watching the chooks, and chillaxe! Right now, that's about all I can do without losing my mind!!! As they say..."this too shall pass"....let's hope!

awesome lady! My hatcher is packed with fuzzies! I'll take them out in the morning to make sure that they have time to dry out and see if any stragglers want to join in. From what I can see I have some big beauties

Oh, and just to make matters more interesting here, my TV antenna that is remote controlled, or should I say WAS remote controlled, gave out. So now on top of everything else, I have NO TV!

It's awfully quiet around here, especially at night! On the plus side...my electric bill should drop substantially!!!!

Yes they are! My Mom used to say it all the time, and now I finally know what she meant. I try to count my blessings instead of dwelling on the bad stuff. While I realize I have a lot less than some, I have a lot more than many; so I am grateful.

Keara ~ Sure hope you had a good time in Greece! Those eggs would've fooled me, they look almost as dark as I get here with Marans! For months, I kept having the same dream almost every night. I was sitting on a stone veranda, with a grape arbor overhead, drinking wine, and looking out at an olive orchard. I wasn't sure if it was Greece or Italy, but some day hope to envision that dream; it was very peaceful...and I'll know it when I see it! Great that you found such a good house sitter too! At this point if I were to leave, I would find a somewhat starved, and blithering idiot in a small corner of the house, babbling on about how the dog kept her there!

oh I understand about the Dog..... in fact ours was at my in-laws, I would not do that to a poor housesitter.

PS the place you were dreaming of was Kardamili Greece. Go there you will love it.... Mediteranian Sea, Tygotos mountains, quiet village with a few roosters, wonderful people, and all the history you care to absorb. Oh right the olives, I never knew olives could taste like that or the oil be so good; like nothing you get in the store. Local red wines have strong plum and berry flavors. GO!
