Hello Marans people! I have one BCM hen, and she gives me some beautiful dark eggs. I bought her last year at the Ohio National from a very nice lady. Does anybody know anybody who will be going to the Ohio Nationals again next month? I would love to arrange to buy some more Marans, since I only have one.

I just LOVE those dark eggs. One of these days, I would actually like to get into the breeding, but I really don't know much about genetics and such.

If anybody can help, I sure would appreciate it!

It isn't even 7 here... You hens get up early... My rooster flew the coop for the weekend and I still find myself getting up when he would... Nice to have some buddies to have coffee with... My chickens aren't even up yet!!! Can't wait to see if I got another pullet egg today!!! rah rah... She was born in January... so that tells you how long this Wade line takes.. Not all of them lay this late....Only the one I was holding my breath on...

Well, I actually got to sleep in this morning, 7:45! Good sleeping weather here lately, but when I got out to the coop, the girls about knocked the door open, then all stood there giving me the "stink eye". "Hey you old bat, where've you been?? Daylight's a burning and we have stuff to scratch up...gees".

I think the Blue Copper pullet that I am bringing to you gave me this yesterday. She is the only gal in that flock that would/could still be giving me a smaller pullet sized egg.

I don't know about that show but I know that there are several peeps here on this thread around that area that have some very nice birds.

A person could always find a breeder who may be close to you at this link and then scroll through the breeders list and directory.
