Marans Thread - breed discussion & pictures are welcome!

Today, I have been on the road from 1:30 - 8:30. I went to two fellow BYCers and collected eggs for my first incubation. I am attempting to hatch 17 Delawares, and 22 BCM's (blues and blacks). I have lived in Florida for almost my entire life and have never been to the two towns I went to today. I've driven down roads that were miles and miles and miles from anything . . . Good thing I filled up on gas before I left. My goggle directions were wrong. GPS saved me ! !

I guess when we go to pinks - - -

#1 - - pick up chasehope (willing or not - - moot point)
#2 - - drive the jeep with 4 wheel drive
#3 - - bring the GPS - - just in case
#4 - - Don't go in the winter!

HOWEVER, I thought I heard pink say she needed a HOUSE / chicken sitter for a couple of weeks in Feb . . . .ummm . . Let me think about this for a little bit

There are MANY questions that get posted here and the thread moves FAST - -

If you posted something and you did not get a response - - -

PLEASE, Don't get mad. No offense is meant . . . Just re-post.

I am posting this for the "newbies" to this thread. . . .
The "oldies" already know that "The Squeeky Wheel Gets The Oil".

Hey Don, you still out there OR are you taking a vacation from us again ? ? ?

Here is a new topic - - - Both people I visited today mentioned "spilt wings".
I have not seen this come up on the marans thread before.
Is "spilt wings" not a concern with marans like it appears to be in other breeds ? ?
