I will try to get more today.Donna~
On that splash boy of yours.......do you have another photo of his comb.......I am wondering if what you are explaining about the comb is like his grandfathers and is uneven serrations. Lil Bill has and Gnarles had points with uneven serrations. I do not worry too much about these as it can be worked on later.
I am seeing nice combs and good points on my young ones now.
In the realm of all things considered MARANS.......IMHO, this is one of those smaller things that I don't sweat.
I am loving his coloring......you got more photos of him?![]()

X2!!Hope you have a great hatch!![]()
Do you have an incubator ?Ok. I'm really getting incredulously jealous over here. I can't find anyone local to sell me these guys! I'm mostly looking for a variety of color when it comes to my egg laying hens. I have 3 amerecaunas (one's mixed w/a buff cochin), but they're straight run. So IDK what I've got. I have no adults, just chicks ranging from 1-4 weeks. I'm brand new to chickens and am buying my starter flock. I want a wide variety of colors for my eggs, but it's been kinda hard finding what I'm looking for. I went to a swap that was pretty much dead last Sat and this Sat I'm going to another one which is suposed to be a lot bigger. No, I don't have to have everything all at once, but it's just hard and also disapointing when you're so excited about something but yet can't find what it is that you REALLY want. {{{sad face}}}
Will do, he is on alert, it's hard to get photos from that boy, lol.With only one photo, at first glance, I would be inclined to say cull if you have other roosters to choose from. In this photo it appears that his back narrows too much near the tail break and also his tail appears to be too high or aka: squirrel tail. To be fair to the bird and you, it would help to give a better opinions if maybe you could post more photos of him from different angles.
Hope you have a great hatch!![]()
