We have an inverter that plugs into a cigeratte lighter outlet. Our generator needs a tune up and is not ready for use. We've been too busy with the gazebo and chicken's to worry about that thing

We did the unthinkable - - we helped these two hatch. . .
We weren't - - but they have had a hard way to go on today. Their peeps were so loud and they had a pretty good hole already broke thru. I tapped a crack all the way around the egg. Then, I let them finish breaking through the membrane.

Both chicks were from my really large blue copper marans eggs. The hen that lays these needs to cut back on the oyster shell intake . . . . Those were some tough shells !

OT a tad here......sorry....I have severe angel trumpet envy here. Mine just got good started blooming and now in the thirties at night. Sigh...

I will try and get some new pics of them. I have one older male about 8 1/2 mos. and then some males and females that are younger (girls not laying yet). They are getting old enough to lay soon.

Math: Awww such cute fuzzy butts. They are so adorable hiding under the stuffed animals. I like that spotted stuffed cat or whatever it is lol.

Thank you. Yours should be okay in the ground in FL they will die back and re-emerge from the roots in the spring. If you are lucky enough not to get serious freezes then they might not die back at all. I do dig some of mine up and put them in the greenhouse since I try to get seedpods set on them to create new hybrids, so I don't want the ones with seeds to die back lol.

This is the med wading pool so it has a little higher sides than the smallest ones. I am hoping to keep them in there at least 2 weeks.
I have never used the pool before. I am going to cover it with chicken wire soon so that the little buggers can not jump out.

It has worked really well and I would use it again. Gives the little ones plenty of room to run and jump and get away from the light.
