Kim, don't know about a smiley but could post a picture then you could get a laugh. Don

Kim, if you saw me in person would not think it was the same person posting on BYC. Reading post you can never tell the frame of mind someone ii in when posting. Especially someone that is straight forward. Don;)

Well, that was close, Thank you!

But, you won't be able to stall for long, my friend, I will get a smiley out of you yet.

Debbi, take a look at the proposed standard and tell me what you think, PM if you would like. Don

Don,

Seems to me that the coloring for the cocks are all over the place?? First it says, dark red, then the head is orange, no dark feathers, then it goes from orange to coppery?? Gray under coat, when all of them I've seen in pics look to have white fluff? I have yet to see one in person, so can't really get a good grip on what they are trying to convey. It just seems all over the map though when it comes to the color of the roos. The hen not so bad. What are your thoughts on it? PM me if more comfortable.

Don I want on your list for Cuckoos you want to get rid of the tailless one just box him up and send him west where it warmer...I have pullets that would match up nicely

on sexing Dellies it takes 6 to 8 weeks..the first batch I raised I thought the girls were boys by trying to feather sex them now I just wait for the comb and tail and the ones who are more friendly those are roos. Early spring hatch was mostly boys late spring hatch mostly girls...I'm going to start in Jan so I hope I get 50/50....

Don~ I will not get rid of the lighter blues at all....will just work harder on the lacing with them. I love all the shades of blues and I seriously think they should all be acceptable. No fear none of my blues are going anywhere. I'm too hooked.

Kim, In the end all shades of Blue will be considered for placings and mostly will be left up to the Judge. Myself I like the middle of the road color. I have raised Blue fowl in many breeds over the years. Don

I was thinking that it would be the darker blue with good lacing because that is what's preferred in other breeds that are blue. I have one dark blue copper male that is so dark that he doesn't have lacing though lol. If he is in the shade, sometimes I have to look twice to see he is blue not black copper. He is also the naughty one lol. His name is achilles but I should of named him Bad Black Bart.

As soon as I find my stupid camera battery charger (grrr I hate that charger thing, I'd rather just have normal batteries now) , I want to put up a pic of this little blue roo I have.
He is so steely light grey that he really looks almost lavender. He is strange looking. He came from two light blue parents. He has a little darker greyish blue on his back and hackles but his body looks sort of lavender. I do have others that are so light they almost look splash but he is different. Wierd.

Debbi, Just looks like who ever wrote this proposed Standard was out in ya ya land. There is so much that does not make sense and I will have to wait until someone does something about it if they will. What I would like to know how are they going to submit this mumbo jumbo to the APA for consideration. Don

Don, I don't know. Maybe figuring they have more time to work on it, (October?), they threw something together to later go through and fix it up with other's input??

I DO know that there was only one very small group of breeders that were even willing to write it - they asked for help, NO ONE came forward. Where were all you naysayers when it was being written? I think rather than putting it down all the time, we ought to all be working to embrace it for what it is, and know that it can and likely will change in the future.
