Hi Beth! Welcome to the Marans thread!

Thanks for sharing pics of your birdies! Before I comment on Harley is there a way to get some photos of him from the front so we can see his breast and undercolor? I know I'm asking alot because I know how hard it is to get photos of the chickens, but a front shot will really help. Thanks!
Cute babies! I love Welsummers too! I gotta ask.....did you end up with 2 Welsummer roos out of those babies?

Cute fuzzies! The white areas on them can sometimes have a slightly yellowish tinge when they hatch, I've noticed that it goes away. I have not noticed any adult color issues from it, they usually grow out just fine. Others may have an opinion on this and hopefully they will share.

Anybody?

Not a very good pic. Can you take a full profile and frontal pic??? Can't tell much of anything with this pic except he has some nice coloring.

My male shepherd has taken it upon himself to be the designated "chicken bedtime monitor". He will come over to me when it starts getting dark, and look towards the back door. Those bad girls will dauddle about going in the coop if I'm outside, so now, I stay in till it is just before you can't see time, then they are all in. Seems like they enjoy making me wait until THEY decide it's time to go in!

Yah...I think they enjoy they enjoyed me chasing them and I wised up after a while and said fooey! If their not smart enough to go into a coop that is lit up then I don't know what to tell them. When they are young and sometimes after intergration they get confused and I will find them right outside the door and for a couple of nights I will toss them in the coop...they usually figure it out from there.
