Hi there, I am new to BYC and we have French Black Coppers and Kuckoo's I was wondering how do you post a picture on here? I'd love to get some advice on our chickens as we are planning on showing them next year. Thanks

Bev is working on the Golden Salmon but they are not ready to sell she said. I have Silver Cuckoos from Cratty and Braden with feathered legs and they do lay a dark egg but they just started and I have to test mate them first to check on any having recessive white as I hatched a white pullet beautiful though....by late October I should know the Fitch line lays very dark eggs too but they are clean legged. I was finding it difficult to find "french cuckoos" that are big and burly the pictures seem to have them looking lanky....I'm very happy with the ones I found.
I think if you're going to work with Marans you need a big freezer I'm hoping that down the road a ways I'll have less culls...until then I'm keeping my knife sharp

Try working with Araucanas, Ameraucanas, AND Marans. . . All egg vs body breeds with LOTS of freezer space demand. Of course, the Araucanas make really good meat though.
