Okay thanks for ironing that out for me lol. Yes I was talking about the difference between bbs vs copper bbs splashes.
I know that a black copper male can't father a splash bird, read that somewhere, I think.

Yes, because that would be the same as a Black X Splash, which would just give you Blues.

It's like the Blue gene is a little drop of white paint dripped into a bucket of black. One drop dilutes it to Blue (gray really), two drops make it Splash (almost white, but with splashes of blue).

Unless I'm too hungover or something.

I like the paint analogy, that is a good way to think about it. Hung over huh? Okay so what were ya drinking? Did you have blue margaritas and not invite me?

flgarden~
I would say that the splash roo I saw at your link was a splash copper. I did not see any copper on the females but they weren't as close up as the roo. IMO the roo will be one that does not take on the copper pattern of that of the bl-cpr and black cpr.
Have you ever seen the pic of my Splash Copper roo? (well my used to be Splash Copper roo.....he went to the freezer...I didn't like his tail set)

Debbi~
I haven't heard from her since Friday night, I called her to see if she had received her bl-cpr pullet and egg and if all was well. It was and she was in such a flurry to get things done for the weekend she couldn't chat long. As far as I know she wasn't going to be able to make the show either.

I do so much better with pictures . . .

I am going to candle these guys next weekend - - I would assume that I am not going to see much on the marans, but I should see something on the delawares. I have so many eggs in there that it would not hurt my feelings if a few of those delawares don't pass candling. . .

Man, I hope some of my own marans hatch. My one blue copper lays really BIG eggs.
The other Black copper maran is such a nice opposite match for my roo - - - that there should be some good looking babies.

Hey this opposite breeding thing must work in people too. Dh and I made some really good looking children and neither one of us are beauty queens / kings !
