It shouldn't be a double post because it is in the same thread. You could just go to that post and either QUOTE the page and that would bring the links for the girls OR I think you could copy and paste into a new reply . . .

Will do Math! It will be a little bit.....gotta few things that I must get now pronto then I will. See ya'll after a bit!

Very neat boy you have chasehope, so if I am guessing right FBCM stands for French Black Copper Marans? What is the difference if I may ask between a FBCM and a Black Copper Marans? Also does it matter which one is the hen and which one is the rooster in this cross to get a golden? Thanks for all the great info!

Great to see everyone again!

We're moving away from calling them "French" - the American [proposed] standard calls for feathered shanks, thus...they are American, and non-feather shanked Marans would be disqualified in a show pen. But, many folks, including myself, have called any Marans with feathered shanks a "French" variety.

As I understand it (for what that is worth) you take the Cuckoo roo to the BCM hen then the sons from that mating back to their mothers because the barring gene is sex linked and to give the new pullets the barring they must have 2 sets please someone correct me if I am wrong.

I have heard it 2 different ways. The way that you describe it, and then I have been told that you breed the BC rooster to the Cuckoo hens, and breed the sons, back to black copper hens? I dont know. My hens already have the barring gene, so I am going to attempt to skip a step, and breed him straight to my girls that I already have. We will see what happens! Right now I dont have any cuckoos or BC to breed him to, so he doesnt get a choice!

Yes, you put them in a Horizon box and ship them right to my doorstep. THAT is how it works with blue cuckoos.
