They are first and only BCM chicks I've hatched. They came from eggs from a BYC member.

QUICK -- MUST HATCH MORE ! !

HURRY - - - MUST HATCH MORE ! !

NEED HENS to go with roos . . .

Get BIG COOLER - - Make BIG INCUBATOR - - HATCH MORE EGGS ! ! !

Hahah, first and only chicks. . . .

My first batch of chicks I hatched came from over 2 dozen eggs. As soon as they were done, I hatched another 2 dozen, then after that I bought some more young pullets to replace my lack of a good hatch rate in my first two dozen.

(had terrible rate on my first Blue Wheaten eggs, so the breeder kindly got me a few pullets and some extra cockerels)

Thanks Everyone! He loved them and asked if he could have "them red eggs" every delivery. He shares them with his neighbor friend, Ethelyn...whom I met today and after meeting her, I know why he shares them with her.....she's a knockout at 78 years young! They were very cute, my guess is they won't be "neighbors" very long.

Ethelyn...what a beautiful name.

Illia~ The green/blue ones don't go over so well here either isn't that funny? I have a couple of customers that do not want blue or green eggs in there cartons. I have one gal who buys "white eggs" at the store for herself and buys my eggs for her husband.

Today was over the top when some opened their cartons as they always do and saw those olive eggs. This is the first delivery that I included any of the olive eggs, guess I should have broke it to them on my last delivery.

My mother even asked me if the chicken that laid that egg was feeling alright.

WILL SOMEONE HELP ME! I have been trying to find some french black copper marans since last fall and I cannot get my hands on any. I am looking for feathered shanks from Presley, Davis and Jeane's line, please if anyone has a few started chicks they would like to sell, email me. I have a nice flock of Lowell Barber Welsummers and Johan Barnvelders and I would LOVE to get me some FBCM! HELP, OH HELP!

Alright, here's a much better shot of my Blue Wheaten cockerel.

Here's a cockerel I hatched from Wynette. He's got a lot of coppering on his chest, but I need that.

Here's a Bev Davis boy. He's SOOOO friendly.

Another Bev Davis, but with a lot less coppering and an amazing comb.

I love my boys!

(pardon all the muck, it has been extremely rainy here, and the boys decided to hang around in the muckiest region of their run)

Illia You have more rain on the ground than I have seen all year here in Florida. We are so DRY.
We have had the worst weather this year . . .
Freezing cold in the spring, Boiling heat this summer, and ALMOST NO RAIN all year long

It has been a horrid gardening year !

Yes...but you will get birds with both the single comb and the peacomb. There is something like a 3% chance that a single combed bird from that cross would ever lay a blue/green/olive egg.
Keep the birds from that cross with the peacombs.
