With Marans, what is the difference between Partridge and Golden Salmon? You say one of yours carries both. Here in Europe, Partridge, Wildtype, Golden Salmon, Black Breasted Red, Golden Duckwing, are all the same.
Got a pic of "Roy", my new hopeful, future roo, pictured at 11 weeks. It's windy as all get out today, so no one was very willing to pose. Got another egg today too! This one is darker and bigger!
Can't seem to get the proper color to show up. The true color is more towards the darker picture of the eggs. The first pic in the natural light seems to wash them out a shade or more? Anyway, I am pleased with her first eggies!
Partridge is not the same...it is partridge... they are yellow with a black spot on their heads..I will find you one... Wellsummers and this marans I have are all classified as wild type or duckwing... in the case of the marans they call them Golden Salmon... If it were a leghorn you would call it brown. Breeds with the same phenotype have different names however partridge is a different phenotype.... It is laced... or double laced as in the barnevelder.
Uhhhmmm Wow Debbi... I was posting!!! Sheesh..cutie pie... Nice eggies.
I really like his chunkiness and I think he will have a really nice tail set. He is just starting to get in some saddle coloring. He is as sweet as he is cute. He is dark for sure, but it's his type I love.
