Nope...not yet. Some rocking yesterday, but not much and no peeps yet. I suspect they will go a day late or so. The last hatch went on for days, but that was due to a power outage I am sure. One outage this time but it was only off for a couple of hours and happened way back around day 10.
Come on chickies......can't wait, should be lotsa blues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have to tell ya that I am flying completely blind on this hatch. Didn't candle once, not even before I stuffed them in the 'bator and didn't candle before lockdown. we shall see!
Good luck on your hatch pink. Can't wait to see some little blue fuzzy butt pics. We need a chix fix
I have 2 of my pullets just started laying eggs the last few days. One is one of the BHB BCMS. Wowza, she is laying a very dark egg!! It is pretty large for a new layer lol.
The other a blue copper(hatched from one of mine) Very dark also but tiny.
Thanks, Monique - my search isn't working properly. I searched for posts by you, with the word "bumblefoot" in them, and got no hits. Weird.
Something has changed with the Search feature. I don't like the new one. I used to do searches for all sorts of things and many different links would come up that don't come up now when I use the same search term. Not sure what they changed but it doesn't work well.
Yesterday I was able to get the most awesome photo of one of the girls' hackles from GFF. Now tell me experts....is this too many melanizers, or is this mahogany, or a combo of both. In my mind it is indicitive of both. When she is not in the sun, she looks completely black, when then sun hits her you can see copper, but as in the first photo you can see that it is very dark, almost makes her hackles look irredescent and silvery but truly it is a very dark copper.
Sorry the second photo is a little blury, had to try and get that photo while she was still standing still. Thanks in advance.
