muscovy: I don't know anyone with fertile eggs for sale right now but I am in NE FL. I know there is someone named halo on byc that has marans not sure if he is in So FL or not. Are you trying to get eggs that aren't shipped? Or trying to find chicks or adult BCMs? In the spring, there should be plenty of chicks around. I know there are lots of breeders in FL I am not that familiar with the ones in the southern part though. Did you look under the forum of Swaps there should be a thread for Swaps and Meetups in FL, they list all the swaps, shows, etc. in the entire state. That is where you will be able to find someone close to you.
I saw on your byc page that you are looking for muscovies. There is some sort of new federal law that is supposed to affect muscovy ownership nationwide. I have some but I have had them since before the law went into effect. You are only supposed to have them for eggs and meat and not propagate them etc. I believe you can get a permit to keep them or sell them for meat and you have to mark them before a certain age etc. etc. There is a link to the law on the duck forum under the 'sticky' at the top of the forum. I don't really understand it all but I just thought you should be aware of what's going on with the muscovies since you like them.
Thank you Pink! I got my eggs today 1 was broken but the rest are in great shapeand resting comfortably I got 13 BBS, 4 Welsummer, and 4 Olive eggers it was 1 of the Wellies I lost. Great color for BBS eggs
Sorry about the broken Wellie egg. So tell me if it was how I wrapped and packaged or was it shipping related?
Glad you are happy with egg color. Thank you. Thank you for doing this.
Wish they could have been some of their darker ones, but I believe that some of the older girls are gearing up for a little winter break. Save some room for some of Bill's dtr's eggs in the future.
