Thanks Randy! and let me tell you......YOU'VE GOT SOME BEAUTIFUL EGGS & BIRDS there yourself mister. You know I love those Wheatens. I will say this over and over again.....that creamy color on the hens underbodies, is absolutely fabulous to me, then add the contrast of the copper head and back/wing area......that's what I'm talking about!

Last thing DH said to me before he went to bed was "So...let me guess, your going to stay up so your little friend there isn't lonely huh?" and "Good night dear." It's cute how he thinks he has me all figured out.

heathersboers,

We could use a couple of more pictures of him. His tail may be too high or it could just be the way he is standing.. . .

We need a close up of his head and front chest area. His comb has way too many points . .. . but I am wondering about eye color, chest color, and his general form.

Take a couple of more pics and post them. Keep in mind - - - the perfect bird is hard to find. Most of us are using what we have to produce a "better" bird in the next generation. The first step to this is identifying the good and bad about our own stock and them doing some complimentary breeding to correct errors and enhance assets . . .. .

Thanks Friends! I don't know if I would call it being the best chicky mama but it sure beat the he_ _ out of listening to the little stinker chirp at the top of its lungs like it had been doing for hours. It worked and baby was quiet all night until I put it back in the brooder. Did I create a monster already?

I swear I keep hearing faint peeps (not from "Only the Lonely".....shhhhhh, little lonely is sleeping) but can't verify. I did commit a no-no and took an egg out that was the last one I saw move and a random egg out of the other bator. Held the one I saw move up to my ear and tapped, nothing, but when I put it back in the bator, it was wiggling and rocking. The random egg upon tap I could hear the familiar faint nipping going on in there.

I totally agree with math.

He honestly doens't look like Bev Davis stock to me, but that's just one opinion! I actually prefer them dark (geebs, you are not allowed to comment!), but it does come with problems...if you breed this guy to hens without enough copper in their hackles, you'll likely get solid black pullet offspring. His tail is definitely way too high..."squirrel tail" is an older conformaition issue; what I mean by that is, it's something that most of us have already bred out of our stock (correct me if I'm wrong, guys!). But, it's an easy fix.

Pink - cute lil' tacker! Comeon chickies!!!
