Good morning marans fans!!!...Hi Pink

Great day today!!! I have my bators runnin and next years eggies photographed etc... I am joining the ranks of the overrun with chickens and throwing my hat in the ring... let the hatching begin!!! Congrats on the pips....let em ride!!!!

I guess it is location...If I marketed eggs... I could probably get 5 or 6 dollars a dozen because I am between two cities... but I don't like ppl coming to my door... I am seldom home.... when I am ... well I am where you see on my page under "Hi from Geebs".

I can just see Don raising improper colored marans with all thier faults for only dark eggs. They'd probably drive him up the wall everytime he went outside to look at them.. O look at that mossy one...that 12 point comb is driving me nuts...look at all those white feathers in the tail of that one with the #9 egg!! He would go bonkers....OR..just maybe it would be therapeutic.

flgarden....I bet the ones Don raises w/o white feathers taste the same as the mossy ones I have...

We all do the best with what we have... that is the bottom line...Everyone has the "their thing" and mine is short legged chunky chickens...Not a lot of them.. but ones that mostly fit in to what I understand the standard to be... Don has a deeper and more refined understanding of what that means... I am still growing in my understanding... Thanks for the extra "brain wrinkles" Don...

Don, in all seriousness - it would be a travesty for someone like you who has done so much research and breeding to throw in the towel. (can you tell I'm going to hound you for stock some day? After all, you're not that far from me...)
