No Wynette you are no where near the only one. There are lots of us out here for more than one reason. I know several people that just think that nature knows they need a break to build their strength & rest up to have another go at it.LOL

there is a swap's thread? Looking for it now!

thanks!

I just spent some time looking at Vermont and NH swap pages.... I live in a very Marans poor area! Not to mention, not many people 'round here are very active on BYC. oh well

If anyone within 3hrs of Bristol Vt wants to trade Marans eggs this spring, I would consider a drive. I'll show you pictures of mine if you show me yours?

perhaps, but I was complaining earlier about the lack of marans breeders in my area (the northeast) and the general low population density of non hatchery chicken enthusiasts. This was just an example of what made me want to

the fact that a rooster won a blue ribbon for pullets at a fair, a fair largely considered one of the most agriculturally oriented in our state.

I envy you westerners, so many of you are riding the crest of the marans wave. In the northeast we are still in the kiddy pool.

Not to mention I am continually impress how many of you have been up for hours.... when I am just getting my coffee made.

Hey Keara,
I'm kinda in the NorthWest & I am still in the kiddy pool...........LOL. I figure I will wade around in here until I get better at it then I will be ready to play with the big boys (girls, mostly I think).....LOL Lots to learn. lots to learn, lots to learn

Your welcome Dave!!!

Keara... there is no shortage of ppl that will play in the Olympic pool or the kiddie pool here with you on BYC!!!! No worries... You will likely start a trend in VT. You aren't the only person to reside there with marans... You are just one of the first....Share the wealth... Some of my favorite breeders... have my birds...LOL!!!! Get crackin'!!!!!

My eggies came!! they are a beautiful deep chocolate , darker than my girl lays! I'm so excited!! I will be setting them tomorrow. A dozen, and all made it here fine!! Whoop whoop!!
I also got a dozen pink blue and light green ones for fun layers!
I'm very jazzed!! Will post pics soon.
Edited to add: the eggs are from a person in TN who is a Marans club member but not here on byc. They're from wade Jean lines, Ron Presley cottage hill and green fire farms stock.
