Nivtup is up your way and he has Wheatens.....our Mr. Snowbird has Wheatens from him and he can tell you about their quality. Also Chasehope has Golden Cuckoos that look good but I don't know if they are laying yet or if she plans on selling eggs and not sure exactly where she is but she is close to you as well. Oh and these are their BYC names so you can do a user search and PM them. Shelley is Chasehopes first name and I can't remember Niv's first name. I got BBS Ameraucana's from Nivtup a couple of years ago, nice birds, so I can imagine that his Wheaties are just as nice and if you are ever looking for any Blue Wheatens, Illia is in Forks and has Blue Wheatens and Wheatens, they are lovely! Hope this helps!

and did not even notice the foot with only 3 toes.

It did look that way at first but if we look closer at the foot on the right, he has all of his toes. The thumb toe is just very hard to notice as it is directly in line with his leg.

Side Spikes - - - growths off the side of the comb

There is only one cure for hatching a chick with a side spike - - -- Hatch some more

Yep.....Lisa is right the only way to cure that is to hatch more!

So, let me tell you folks a little story .. . . .

I have been on a search for show quality speckled sussex. I have been contacting breeders by phone, email, and snail mail.

One of the breeders I spoke to has an infertile roo. THINK about this for a minute. Imagine finding the perfect Marans roo - - no white feathers, nice back, perfect 45 degree tail, excellent copper color balance, and the rare 5 point comb. You invest all your resources - time and financial - just to find out he can not get the job done!

I have a marans hen that seems to have the same issue. She does not lay eggs. Occasionally, She goes in the box and sits but nothing ever happens. So very strange to have a hen that does not EVER lay eggs.

So, have you ever had a hen or roo that did not do what nature intended them to do ? ? ?
