It seems that there are not many LF at the shows I am just starting my breeding program so I don't have much to show yet. My Silver Penciled Rocks are nice enough to show just too young my Dels need work on the tails and the color and my Marans are just not close yet.....I'm hoping to have something to show in the fall and the next year I didn't pick any "easy" breeds that's for sure

I was surprised at the number of game and bantam birds at the show. I bet 50% of the entries were one or the other.

You know Lotsapaints, it cost the same to feed the "easy" ones as it does the
not easy" ones.

The "EASY" ones just don't have the "WOW"

factor that the "Not Easy" do.

I am beginning to think I might be CRAZY

for picking Delawares, BCM marans and speckled sussex as my final three!

Nice eggs! Your dd is gonna go nuts with all those little fuzzy butts running around pretty soon!

Ginasmarans: Pretty Cuckoos and nice eggs too! I have such a soft spot for barred birds!

I chased Cheepa's son around today with the camera. This is the young roo from my Avatar egg pic. His father also comes from a very dark egg. I at least want to use him for my dark egg layer pen. His tail is way too high and his back is too short. I could breed him back to Cheepa (his mother because she has a long back and normal tail) and see if I can get any chicks with lower tails and longer backs and lay dark eggs....I think he will be a big boy when he is full grown. He is really sweet and follows me like a puppy dog. I kinda like his coloring even though his chest is pure black and not with "parsimonious copper". He doesn't have a name yet lol.
This is the egg he came from:

I think you should name him "Chocolate Chip" and call him "Chip" for short. Looks like he has a nice broad chest....I love that!

Just my personal opinion, but I think EVERYONE should have a Blue Copper or 2 or 3 or 4 or or or or perhaps a whole flock of 'em.
