Hi Germaine!

I know what you mean about finding the little jewels in the nest box, I love it! Even with all of this nasty cold and snow, my girls are still producing at least 3 times a week. No record breakers, but enough to keep me in eggs.

This morning is in the 30s here, and the boys were all wild!

Gees, it was like getting out of the run with a bunch of foot stomping velociraptors after me!

Had a woman interested in two of the cockerels, but she must've changed her mind, NUTS! Funny, how the best looking boy (my Roy) is the sweetest...so far. My avatar Clyde is a sweetie too, but I've noticed a couple of stink eyes, so I'm watching him. Pip is the WORST!!

I was taking photos and didn't realize how funny this first one was until I downloaded it to the computer...
Yummy snow...

Sue~ That first photo is the greatest! Too funny!

Those boys look great.......any chance of squeezing one of them in with some hatching eggs?

eta: I'm not picky, but the boy in the first photo would do just fine!

Sue ~ Nice looking bunch there! I like your dark boy too, looks a lot like two of mine. I'm waiting for the saddle colors to come in also, mine are the same age. Funny pic with their little snowy beaks!

I noticed mine eating the snow as well.

Thanks, my plan is to put the younger one with less copper in with my hens that have good copper hackles, an
d the older, more colored boy in with hens that need more copper.

They both have great bodies, nice & big, and came from dark eggs. I can't wait to see how their chicks turn out. This darn cold weather here in NY is driving me crazy!

I hear ya! I am soooo ready for spring already! Thankfully, it got up near 40 here yesterday, so my pipes thawed out! More stuff is coming in tonight, freezing rain and snow

When I was younger, I couldn't understand why older people went south for the winter, now I know! It was 6 degrees this am. We had a half day of sun yesterday, but I think it was only the 3rd day of sun since November......got up to 20..wow.

Yes, we've had a few rounds with that frigid stuff, intermingled with tornados!

Evidently, the cold is frying my brain, my young cockerels are only 18 weeks old, not 6 months!

The two look like little turkeys, they are so stout! This was taken a week or so ago.

okay question for you all, we have a hatchery cuckoo who is about 9 months now and was laying everyday up until just before the end of Dec. We noticed that she was missing a lot of feathers underneath just like our broody cochin was and stopped laying. Do you think she is going through a molt because we never see her sitting or trying to sit on eggs. She does like to roost could that also be a possiblity for the lack of feathers? She is under lighting(16 hours/day) and eating and drinking fine and otherwise healthy.
