boy, if we were closer my kids would be happy to hatch them out for a 4-H project, that's what we have going on right now

best way to do chicken math!!

Yep, 3 inches tomorrow night. Ice, snow and below 0 wind chills tuesday night and then the storm hits Wednesday. Is it bad there? Your weather usually hits here the next day, just colder!

I have to gloat just a little (last year we had the lions share of weather)... I washed my horse today it was so nice... Ready for the show this week...I might not be on here much during the week through the next weekend.... I am hauling kids and horses to their competition...

Morning Mr. Mel!

Those eggs go into lockdown today, set for hatch on Thursday. I started out with 22 and removed 12 that were clear, the 12 that I removed were all from one or 2 of the youngest laying BCM's, I am going to downsize Gnarles' flock again to see if it helps, but I know the eggs were fertile as I had checked them. Don't know what happened, but I set another 2 batches of 10 eggs each to see if I get development this time around. This really puts a damper in starting to send out eggs.....if they aren't developing, I have to find the problem, get it fixed and try some more eggs so I can get on shipping.
I would like to keep a couple of these babies depending on how many hatch and you can come get the rest of the hatch if you would like....I will keep them about a week or two so you have plenty of time to get ready for them. I will keep you updated.

Do any of the little ones that you picked up a couple weeks ago look like roos yet? It's killin' me.....I have to know if I was even remotely close on my original gender guesses. Pic's later would be great.....remember to get one from the front and one full on side view if you can.

Well it's going to get worse if you get what we will be getting. Today rain, tonight freezing rain turning to snow. They are calling for at least 1/2" of ice first in my area, then between 10-14" of snow come Tuesday! Temps dropping to zero, with wind chill factors at minus 10-20!

20mph winds, sounds like fun, eh?? Glad I don't have anything in the bator right now, I can see a power outage in my near future. Hope I don't lose every dang comb I have out there, or any chickens for that matter! C'mon summer!!!!!!!!!!!
