I am going to start chanting "girl, Girl, GIRL" every time I walk past them.
Can you tell my that last photo how large the eggs are that my girls lay. They are every bit a JUMBO. You can not shut the lids on the egg cartons when you collect them!
I LOVE the size of the eggs. . . .
It just disapponts me to see a big butted chicken lay a med egg. Big Butts should EQUAL ( = ) BIG eggs!
That is why I like the marans and delawares.

I am thinking tomorrow night. I have some speckled sussex eggs coming in too. They didn't get here today . . . so they should be here tomorrow morning.
Do you think I should let these guys rest in the incubator for a couple of days too OR turn them like I normally would ?
BTW (by the way), I candle at 7 days and then again at 13 or 14 days. I KNOW you are a leave em and hatch em person, but I can't help but check out the growing process!
Pink - I don't think I'm supposed to be setting them until 3/11. I'm dyin' to set some now, but I really don't need any more just yet! Have to grow out the ones I have to see what I've got going on there.

I thought maybe that would be your plan of attack.
Yes I can tell how big they are.....my splash girl lays nice big jumbo eggs and so does one of Bill's daughters.

I KNOW what is going on here - - cock a doodle do cock a dooodle do. I heard the one month olds annouce their sex to the world the other morning. I wish they made gags for the boys . . . .
Cock a doodle do Cock a doodle do.
Maybe someone will invent one. We have saddles for the hens. We NEED muzzles for the cockerels!

When I get shipped eggs I will often just leave them sitting in the open box and I don't turn the box at all. Last year I had some eggs shipped in from Georgia (different breed) and I was so busy at the time, I left them sitting unopend in the box for 5 days..then I opened them and popped them in the 'bator. 8 out of 14 hatched....too bad they weren't what they were suppose to be.
