Greyish=roo
Black=pullet
Wheaties the darker ones are roos the lighter are pullets.
I've had pullets hatch that were very light. Almost white, but they darkened as they grew and were a beautiful wheaten color. My roos have always been a little darker or yellow.

It helps. .. it sounds like your girls lay the same color pretty consistently. Do you know which line your stock originated from?

Yes,.................My mutts are Davis/Presley/Jeanne. I got them 3 seasons ago so at this point am going with what I have but they have improved both in type & egg color so until I get better (thid year I hope) I will keep plugging along with what I've got.......LOL

Hi I like the white ones too. They seem to be one of the harder/more unusual to find colors in Marans that's why no one posts any photos of them I guess.

Harmony Oaks in Ca has them and I think Karen is hatching some for herself and I have one hen from Cuckoos that I hatched..she's smaller and even though she hatched out of a 7 egg she barely lays a 4. I think she's pretty but I don't know what to do with her maybe cross her with OE's I know her eggs so she just hangs out with the other BC's.

Denny is right Carrie of Harmony Oaks in Arnold California has whites & I have been hatching for her since her power problems with the stow storms. She took a bunch of whites home last week. I have a dozen in my incubator now & the one lone "rescued" chick I posted a picture of.
I think her website is Substainableyields.com
