Just popped in to say hi chummies... I am seriously swamped but wanted to shout out to everyone HI and I am still alive just so busy I can't see straight...

Enggass~ I didnt know that GFF had Birchens, but I do know that he had BCM and Blue Coppers but I thought he was not going to be breeding them anymore so that he could work on his other imported breeds. He must still be filling orders that he had prior to making the decision to work with the other breeds. I got 12 BCMs last year from him that were from birds that Bev transferred to him from her flocks for Paul to breed. I only kept the females after growing out the only 3 that were males for almost 7 months. I did not care for the males at all as each one had an issue, 1 had crooked toes,1 had Wry tail and the other was way overly red and had squirrel tail. I am very very happy with the girls...the eggs that you got were from some of those gals.

How do your tomatoes do in the ground?

I am pretty nematode free here. I keep looking and watching for them . . .. but so far all clear!

That is what happened to us folks in Florida last year. . .. My garden wasn't worth a toot last year. . .
The two years before that - - - I gave lots of extra away, but NOT LAST YEAR!

It is looking real good this year. . . . Last year we had a late freeze 17 degrees in APRIL. It ruined all my crops. By end of May we were in the 90s. It was just horrid. The fall was just as bad this last year. . .

Hello to everyone else. (I won't name name because I'm sure I'd forget someone that I wanted to say HELLO to!)

Going back to the person who's marans were sickly. I ordered 25 chicks last year. I received 28. Every single one of them lived, and were healthier than all the other chicks we got. There are so many factors that go into the health of a chicken. I sure wouldn't blame it on the breed. I've certainly been happy with how healthy mine are.

I'm really bummed. I ordered some ameraucanas last Nov. They just came yesterday. The ones I wanted the most, the lavenders were not hatching well, so I was given some others to fill the order and will be getting a refund. He did manage to throw in ONE lavender.

When I got home from work at 3:30 this morning. My lavender chick was dead.
