Me too! Besides, if you visit the French Marans forums, they seem to have many of the same problems there as we have here. To my knowledge, there are only a few folks in this country who have legally imported Marans and other breeds, and at a GREAT expense and hassle. I wouldn't poo-poo the American Marans, who are based on the French standard for the breed; there are quite a few great breeders of them right here!

Mel, its already cold here and we are supposed to get snow as well. I doubt it will hit where we live (Scio) since its a low spot in the *valley* (350 feet) but this is pretty late in the year for snow! GRRR

ALL Marans in this country should follow the French standard and be feathered shanked.
