Steven, Why do you say that? I think I remember you had problems with this hatch, but don't give up hope! I go with all hatches to day 26 or stink; which ever happens first!

First let me appoligize for photo overload haha, just wanted to share my babies now that they are a couple weeks old... maybe just under, would have to look for the hatch date!
I'm pretty sure this is the 1 blue copper marans egg that i got by accident... of course it hatched and black at that with clean legs haha. Will the moseyness clear up some as it grow up?
I think there are 4 blues, 2 look a bit black but their feathers look more like dark blue? 3 feather legged and 1 clean if i remember right, all with normal sized toes.

this one almost looks a bit webbed, but not really in person.

This is the one we call elvis (though it will have to change to cher if its a hen haha), it has the most feathering on the legs of all! I'd really love to use it for breeding.
What do you guys think? I'm hoping for lots of pullets haha, but think i see a roo or 2 already!
Thanks
Sib

Don't know about the rest, but Elvis? has middle toe feathering going on there, and that is a no-no. It may or may not pass on to the next generation, but unless he? is an otherwise exceptional bird in all other aspects, I'd take him out of the gene pool...just me.

My incubator is such a peice of junk! I will be getting a replacement for it next year; I really want to get a brinsea.
I cant even really see anything moveing within the shell...
Don't go by that! I can't see squat when I've candled, and the eggs I've watched like a hawk that never moved, or peeped, or pipped early, are always the ones that hatch!

Ha, after day 10 as long as the egg is full (light doesnt shine through) and the air cell is growing at a normal rate all is golden. With most Marans eggs, they are so dark and hard to see through that as long as they aren't clear they go into lockdown
I can honestly say I've never been able to see movement in my eggs
candeling only works for me to tell on the round eggs wich goes up , it helps to find the air pocket on round golph ball eggs
