Thanks everyone for the kind words. We put DE into the food, water, on the chicks etc and the rest managed to survive but we lost 25.
As to hatching over in the tack house, I've given up on that and brought one of the bators to my house where its set up against an inner wall (no influence from being near an outside wall), stable house temperature and humdiity (tack house was wood stove and lacked insulation, also against outside wall since there really are no inner walls) and since we have quite a few Marans right now (chicks etc., from earlier hatches, my purchased chicks from Copper Hackle Coop and some survivors) so I decided to set some bronze turkey eggs today and see what happens.
