At 7 - 8 weeks of age, there should be a huge difference between the cockerels and pullets. . . .
My guys would have huge red swinging wattles by now! I think you have 2 pullets too.

Here is a pic of Wheaten Marans chicks. There are 3 males and one female in this photo. The female has more of a solid redbrown feathering and the males have dark brown on thier wing feathers. If yours was male you'd be able to tell from thier darker wing feathering. The males also seem to be slow on thier backs when feathering out. So yep yours are girls. Now you need a wheaten rooster lol.

I set eggs in December and hatched out on New Years Eve. It was really fun. I was gonna hatch some silkies but I don't think I will set any eggs until Spring unless my golden cuckoos , Ameraucana girl, or my lav marans project birds starts laying again. They are molting now.. so fat chance lol. I would of course set some nice silver cuckoo eggs if I could find any lol. I think that will have to wait till spring as well.

A picture says it all! Thanks so much and I'm glad to not have to split up this pair. Unfortunately I can't have any roos in my town and just found out on another forum that my little lone Silkie is most likely a boy (but that's the chance we take with babies, huh?).
