So that 2 for roo and 1 for pullet? LOL I got the eggs he came from from DMRippy and she says roo. Oh well, I guess I'll just wait and see. Maybe DH will let me keep him if he's a roo and I can get some olive eggers next year.

Kim and Donna I am almost positive the light blue is Gnarles' boy and the dark blue is a Bill Sr.s boy! I have kicked myself a couple of times for letting the dark boy go! At the time I had a blue that was better but now not so sure. What are you gonna do. Happy for you Donna and glad you are close

I had a pullet from DMRippy who had me guessing for a loooong time. Her picture is below at around the same age as yours. She feathered in slowly (just like the roos in the bunch) and she had the wattles that matched- smaller pink comb too. But - She is no doubt a pullet today

And should start laying in probably 4 weeks or so.

And speaking of missing boys- I put some ads out for my mutt rooster (whom I absolutely adore) and I ended up telling everyone interested in him that I changed my mind. He has been such a good bird and I actually told my husband he can get rid of the dog instead. The rooster is so much more well behaved....... I can't imagine your loss- witnessing the bird of prey take him

I would have been balling my eyes out........ I am hoping that your little blue roo that is growing up turns into a good boy too.

Kim you sent me 2 eggs with Bill X 1 hatched andI am pretty sure the dark blue roo was it.

Elisha, your flock mix is great! What color eggs do you get, besides the beautiful marans brown eggs?

Pink, I can let you know when your girl starts laying and I can pen them up and collect you some eggs. He is in my main Marans pen now. The other roo was molting and my eggs were not as fertile as they have been, so he is taking a break for the fall. If you want I can send you eggs in the spring with the light blue roo too. I may use the light roo in the spring and the dark roo in the fall.... that sounds good. I can only have 2 pens so I need to rotate roos

I am going to grow me out some roo over the fall so we will see what we get. I have a few already from the light roo and they tend to be over colored more so than my Black copper. Can you believe on hatch of chicks about 6-7 weeks old, all but one are roos.... see I said i was going to grow out some roos

I just didn't mean all at one time

BTW I have 24 pullets to sell

that will help TONS!
