I dunno either, but I sure would like to find out, or try! I have seen what Delaware/Marans eggs are like and thats a mix I am definitely planning on. Talk about a funny result! If I get Penedesencas this Spring, I will plan some cross breeding projects and see, okay?? Just for my own flock, and if anyone else is interested, we could make arrangements!

Right now I need to get a good lead on Penedesencas! They're on my wish list still!

I think that would be a very interesting project. I am really curious to know and please keep me posted.

Everyone says they don't have the greatest temperament though. What have you heard on that?

That would work, over time. I am pretty sure this guy already has d'uccle in him because of his feet and vulture hocks, so this would double up on those traits on you which would take a few extra generations to cross it back out, but I would DEARLY LOVE to have a frizzled mille fleur cochin too! I'm game if you are.

Hmmmm.....

My mille fleur bantam cochin roo is currently making lots of whoopee with my black frizzled bantam cochin pullet....

She sure looks like a cuckoo marans. Too bad you don't know for sure.I have a pullet hatched from what was supposed to be a pure marans egg,but I have my doubts. She had a reddish face when she hatched and now that she has feathered out,her coloring is not quite right,so into the eating egg flock she went. Since I sell eggs for hatching,I can't take a chance that I get mixed blood in my flock.

Then we need to work on doing this thing! Would it work for us to exchange eggs?? Amazondoc has a pretty busy little rooster too, maybe his guy could contribute to the gene pool?

I'm getting NOTHING from my girls right now - little darlings - and I am thinking it will be Spring before they get busy. Mr. Frizzy is a busy guy, but the girls are young, and it is supposed to get between 105 and 115 degrees here this week. I doubt they are going to lay, and they will lay fried eggs if they do?
I just want to have some idea about how to proceed, and would love to have not only more Mille Fleur Frizzles, but try to breed the Mille Fleur Frizzle Cochins! And Mr. Frizzy is a great start!

Does either of you guys seriously want to join my Mille Fleur project - you can email me at [email protected] and we can start working on it - and I will dialogue it on my Mille Fleur page here on BYC.

Hey, did anyone ever respond to you? Anyway, the Black Copper eggs seem to be the most expensive. They usually range from about $60 and they go up from there. Some people send a dozen and some people send a half dozen. Now the Wheaten eggs and Cuckoo eggs are much less expensive. I have Black Coppers but I really like the Wheatens as well-they are very nice. There are a lot Cuckoo fans on this thread too. You might be able to find someone on this web site who will sell you just a few, but of course with fewer eggs you have less chance of getting a hatched chick-unless you are really good at hatching them!

I'm a consumer, not a breeder. I'd be happy to buy the end product, and I might get talked into shipping hatching eggs, but I'm not planning to get into the chick-raising business. Sorry!
