My guess is maransguy.

I saw his eggs at the Ohio show and they looked the same on the display table if not darker in real life.

I would love it if maransguy would give us a lesson in how to keep the eggs so perfect looking, too! Mine that are laid on shavings or hay almost always have scratch-marks on them. The ones on maransguy's BYC page, at the bottom, are PRISTINE. I'm wondering if he was there to catch them in a chamois as they were laid!

I just got home a little while ago. 3 /12 hour drive for me but it was worth it. A really fun time!!
No those were not actually Richard's, those were Bee's eggs. She blew everyone else away. She has this remarkable hen I remember people posting about last summer on the MCC forum, so this might have been from that hen or maybe from her offspring. They were very large eggs and, of course, very dark. She scored an 8 for color.
So she knocked it out of the park, but there were several really nice egg entries there today. I'm so glad I got to see everyone's eggs live and in person. And, there were several Black Copper and Cuckoo hens and roos entered as well. Angie Harrover did a really great job and the Marans table had lots people around it all day.
