Marans Thread for Posting Pics of Your Eggs, Chicks and Chickens

Here are my new peeps, including two Wheaties that came from BCM eggs...

I didn't even know which lines these BCMs were from, but we all know now, don't we? And I totally cannot tell the difference between the BCMs and the F2 BC OEs.

So, any way to tell the gender of a Wheatie Marans? Besides wait 6 weeks?

the incubator and will be here 23 rd of feb so i will have close to a full bator and il post some pics. my hens (only 3 ) have slowed down alot mabe 1 each day so the 24 eggs il put in are from the last 15 days and keep or store the eggs in a green house i have and in the cold weather i keep the temp at 55 because of the snow

the chickenns have a big warm coop and i shoveled the snow to give them dry ground . snows are so bad i cant even make it to the orchard i have around 100 yards from the house , the atv is stuck .. i will post some pics of the new bator

It seems I have a pullet and a little baby rooster...and another 18-24 of those eggs coming soon.

Here are a couple of pics of my Black Copper Marans pullet that won Best of Variety and Best of Breed at the Chattahooche Valley Poultry show in Newnan, Ga on Saturday. It was thrilled, especially since it was my first time showing and my only entry.
