Hi Everyone, I'm loving this Marans thread. Does anyone in MA or New England have stock that came directly from BayHorseBonnie? What do you think of the adults? I hatched out five wonderfully healthy babies....but they all seem to be males!

Hey guys! I just picked up two young pullets (Marans) and am super excited for some great looking eggs

I got them from a lady who said they were directly from the "french" line, what ever that means.
Any guesses on age??

They are the black ones in the pics

To all who might in one way or another have a similar looking 12 week old FBCM cockerel in your flock. In your opinion base on experience. Will he loose those excess copper-colored breast feathers as he grow older?

I have blue coppers, black coppers, blue splash and cuckoo marans and love em all. My birds are all young, with the splash being the only ones laying at this time. But I was curious as to what other varieties there are and what is the toughest variety to come up with and how.

I recently place an ad in Craigslist giving away free Black Copper Marans cock bird. And was lucky enough to place all three of my featherless leg boys. Including Gorilla Monsoon, I place these two boys this week. Now all rides on Abomidable's boys and Reggie's boy R00ppet.
