Does anyone know who has REALLY GOOD, really dark laying plain black feather legged marans? Also, who has dark laying feather legged cuckoo marans? My friend was looking on the internet last night and couldn't find any and I went over to her house and googled til I was crosseyed, checked the usual auctions, nothing. I am sure there must be some somewhere... Anyone?

Hey talk about it my year old cuckoo hens haven't layed in a month and my blue and black coppers are just 3 week sold so I have a long time to go. I should have the cuckoos lay a bit before winter really hits hopefully

those are wonderful eggs who are they from ? I got mine from peachick and even at the end of the laying cycle they were very dark!

Henry, I was looking at your pictures. Your chicks are very beautiful and healthy looking. And they must love that coop with the grass carpet!

to me that is dark. anything that is noticeably well darker than a RIR brown egg is dark enough.

Introducing Chickzilla. Eight weeks old, she started out her life in the refridgerator, destined to be an omelette. On a whim, I pulled her out and put her under a broody after being in the fridge for four days. She is the fastest growing chick to date that I have had. Maybe I should refrigerate all my eggs before hatching!
