These were some of their first eggs. Sometimes they are a little darker, sometimes a little lighter.

Those eggs are so pretty, they are certainly worth the wait, the expense, the need to know who is who, everything!! It almost makes my stomach hurt, wanting them so bad! I have serious egg envy, oh my goodness! They are things of beauty, thats for certain! Copper Blues are so nice too, thats what I would love to have, dark egg laying birds that have Blue feathering. Its like having my favorite kind of chocolate, that I only eat ONCE A YEAR (See's candy, Bordeaux)...but getting to indulge in the "eye candy" all the time!!

Congratulations, and good luck on the hatch!!

I like variety too! Pretty eggs there!
My cuckoos are good for lighter then darker also, the lower color being around a four plus, thats why I give them away for shipping to pet people....but I dream of darker eggs! I cant wait to see if my Black Copper lay darker eggs! They hatched from MUCH darker eggs....How exciting!

She grew quite a bit faster than that chick behind her

She also has some good feathers growing on her feet. I am really interested to see what your second generation Tipsy pullets will lay. You have a great start here with the ones you have hatched out. You will have eggs in February or March

LOL that is a really mixed up batch of babies. Bantam cochins mixed with CBM, ages as much as a month apart. No one has gotten hurt yet. Well, I think one has completely disappeared, which means it got out somehow and I'm sure my indoor predator pack made quick work of it. MAN poodles are very game oreinted! They are quick!

Hey gals and guys I have a bit of a problem. This evening as Noah and I were shuting the chickens in the coop, there seemed to be 1 Cuckoo Marans Pullet that wasn't walking well at all. Seems she can't use here right leg much and it looks as if some of the other chickens had pecked at her side a bit. The pecked area is raw but not bloody, no open wounds. So I have brought her inside she is in a box lined with straw in the utility room. I looked at her leg she didn't seem to be in pain and I could not feel any break, but it just flops she seems to be alert and ate as soon as I put food and water in front of her. That was about 7:00. Now she just sit looks around but she seems to be panting, I hope this doesn't mean she is shocky. Anyone with any advise?? Thanks in advance Karan

I am sorry, I am clueless, but I hope she is okay...isolating was the best thing to do, in my opinion, keep her warm and safe, no matter whats up.
Hope you get answers...hang in there......Tina

O.K. just have to share some pics.
These little girls/guys came in on Nov. 7th and I went to pick them up on Nov. 8th. The gentlemen I bought them from only had 5 chicks left but I noticed he had some pulled off to the side. When I asked about those he said they were pulled for someone else that was hours late for picking them up. I managed to get him to sell me two more. It was such a beautiful day today that when I went to clean the brooder I let them outside for about 30 min.
