How exciting! Please post baby pics. My wheatens are almost 5 months old now. No longer babies..... I love wheaten babies!
I love your Wheatons too! Wheatons are still on my wish list, but I am not smooosie enough to get ahold of good quality ones, which I want, and always put my foot in my mouth when I ask if people are gonna have eggs...so I have quit asking if people will have them or sell them, etc...whatever. Some day later on I will get the right ones.
I still just keep giving my Marans eggs away when I have them (Cuckoo Marans) and I am waiting for my Black Coppers to start laying again (they are mad that I penned them up) I think they have either stopped all together or they are dining on their own products! Except that I have an Easter Egger in with them who lays a large, pretty green egg almost every day. And it's always there, so unless they have an aversion to green eggs, they just ARENT laying!!
One day I may raise the price of my eggs from free to something, I suppose. My husband wishes I would, but it makes me feel tacky. I love my birds, and I love to share their babies! When I talk with them about it, (yes, the chickens) we still agree to just ship em out....making people pay for them sounds stressful!! Right now, its fun! No responsibility if I goof up (I did once, I gave a friend a chicken egg instead of a duck)....
So right now - I have Black Copper Marans, decent lines - Cuckoo Marans - a Variety of lines, just added 4 pullets from feather legged lines/Kelly Cratty - 8 new Blue/Black Copper (1 Blue 7 Black) from Whitmore Farms - excellent sturdy chicks - and I have 16 eggs in the bator - 4 Silver Cuckoo Marans and 12 Blue Cuckoo Marans.
And of course, I'm on Bev Davis's list. For this year, I think.
I need to update my pages again!

Want to send me some of those Cuckoo eggs?
I don't even mind paying for them! My only Cuckoo that I had got killed by the neighbor's dog last weekend, as well as 2 of my Black Coppers.
I still have 3 Black Coppers that are getting close to old enough to lay, but only one of them is a hen now. I have 8 younger ones, as well as one Blue Copper cockerel. I have the Wheaten eggs in the bator as well as a few Black Coppers, all from Backwoods Poultry (Cottage Hill lines).
