Oh yeah! Marans population explosion everywhere! Way to go everyone, and congratulations! I share the excitement when read that other's dreams of having Marans have come true too! I cant wait to see the pretty things, in pics and in their little houses and stuff! Oh, and the eggs! I wanna see the eggs, please....pretty please?
I got two really nice Cuckoo Marans eggs today, so the girls are BACK!! I can tell it's Spring, they are making me proud! Now I need to start getting the people on my list to take them again! I even got a little Black Copper Marans egg! Silly freeloaders are finally gonna start giving me some product back for their bottomless pit of an appetite! Weeks of warm oatmeal, and grass treats, and every nutritious feed thing I could read about to give to them...and NADA, ZIP, NOTHING...well, it finally paid off...one little brown egg....but it was there! Not glorious, not incredibly dark, but there! Yippeee!
I will post pics of my next hatch, when my Silver and Blue Cuckoo Marans hatch!

Loving all the great chickies sprouting up on here.
So I posted a few days ago that I was distraught sending my roos to auction. All but one got sold. Their prices averaged $5 to 13! I am thinking this means they all found homes and are not going to be eaten. I was so happy this morning opening the mail and getting a check. I have heard they can't sell roosters for 26 cents at the auction.
Birch Run, were you golden cuckoo eggs dark? I got some eggs last week that I am very disappointed with. I will probably just sell the chicks and try to find another breeder. The eggs were not a 4 on the Marans egg scale despite the breeder assuring me they were. I just don't get how folks can misrepresent their stock.
